How To Live While You’re Alive!

Most, but not all, have regrets as they age. People wish they would have done things differently as they look back at their life. Seniors often look at broken marriages and say, “If only…” Many look at bad decisions and wish they could get an “instant replay” or second chance.  I thought it might be productive to ask someone who has heard from hundreds of people (both young and old).
When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, Bronnie Ware heard the same five common themes over and over and over. (Excerpted from the book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying by Bronnie Ware).
After you read them, ask yourself, “Is there anything (at all) in my life that I truly regret?” And secondly, “Is there anything that I can do now, in the next days, weeks or months, to make my life full, complete and satisfying.
After all, we don’t always die according to our own plan. Well, here they are, all five regrets.

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
It is very important to try and honor at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realize, until they no longer have it.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.

This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But, as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.
By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. As a result, many developed illnesses related to the bitterness and resentment they carried.
We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Often they would not truly realize the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.
It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realize until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called ‘comfort’ of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.
When you are on your deathbed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.
Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, and choose honestly. Choose happiness.

Why having a Mission is Imoprtant in our Life ?

We all need a mission or missions in our life. we all need a purpose, a life purpose. Because your mission, your life purpose gives you passion, It’s just something that you are passionate about, something that you care deeply about. It’s your reason. It’s your why.
See, we don’t make changes unless we have a strong reason to do so. Like we might say I want to be healthy, I want to be healthy, I want to be healthy, I want to lose weight, I want to lose weight. But until we have a really powerful reason to do it, we’re not going to do it. If we have weak reasons, if it’s just like, oh I’d like to lose weight or I’d look a little better, that’s probably not going to give us enough focus and passion to actually take the action in order to get that result. It just doesn’t work that way, right? When we have powerful reasons, a powerful why as Tony Robbins says, then we find that change is much, much easier.
Passion is everything. Passion is how we know we’re in our grove. We’re not as alive when we’re not passionate, we’re not as productive, and we don’t observe as well. Things are not as real to us, we’re not in control. When we’re passionate everything is coming together, we’re on our purpose.
For many of us passion can come in many shares and forms, can happen in many areas of our life, but passion is the key and it starts with following your own heart, going in your own direction, and creating the life you want to experience, and living from that point of passion.

Passion

Success is not an accident. The difference between people who produce positive
results and those who do not is not some sort of random roll of the dice. There are
consistent logical patterns of action, specific pathways to excellence that are within the
reach of us all. We can unleash the magic within us. We simply must learn how to turn
on and use our minds and bodies in the most powerful and advantageous ways. Have
you ever wondered what a Steven Spielberg or a Bruce Springsteen might have in
common? What do John F. Kennedy and a Martin Luther King, Jr. share that caused
them to affect so many people in such a deep and emotional way? They have been
able to get themselves to consistently take effective actions toward the accomplishment
of their dreams. But what is it that got them to continue day after day, to put everything
they’ve got into everything they do?
There are of course many factors however I believe there are fundamental character
traits that they have cultivated within themselves. Characteristics that give them the fire
to do whatever it takes to succeed. These are the traits that can insure your success as
well. Trait number one: Passion. All of these people have discovered a reason, a
consuming, energizing, almost obsessive purpose that drives them to do, to grow and to
be more. It gives them the fuel that powers their success and causes them to tap their
true potential.
It’s passion that drives the computer scientists through years of dedication to create the
kind of breakthroughs that have put men and women in outer space and brought them
back. It’s passion that causes people to stay up late and get up early. It’s passion that
people want in their relationships. Passion gives power and meaning. There is no
greatness without a passion to be great, whether it’s the aspiration of an athlete or an
artist, a scientist, a student, a parent or a businessperson. Discover how to unleash this
inner force of passion within yourself.
